To find relief, we sometimes need to try a different approach

Maybe you’ve tried talk therapy but feel that you aren’t getting anywhere. Or maybe you don’t even know where to begin—you just feel stuck and know something isn’t right. You might understand your challenges or what's holding you back from living the life you want on an intellectual level, but still struggle to make lasting changes.

We carry our hurts and struggles more than just in our thoughts, but also in our bodies. I integrate EMDR and Hakomi to offer a holistic approach to help you process what’s weighing you down—mentally, emotionally, and somatically—so you can let go of what’s been holding you back and make space for real, embodied change.

“The body is designed to heal itself, if we listen to it.”

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based method that for treating unresolved trauma and difficult experiences.

How EMDR Works

EMDR helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences and memories that may feel “stuck.” Using guided bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), EMDR helps your brain reprocess these memories in a safe and controlled way. Over time, memories become less emotionally intense, and new, more adaptive perspectives can emerge.

What to Expect

Early sessions focus on understanding your history and helping you feel grounded and prepared. During reprocessing, you’ll bring to mind aspects of a memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation. Many people notice a greater sense of calm, clarity, and resilience over time.

What is Hakomi?

Hakomi is a body-based approach that uses mindfulness to help you slow down, tune in, and understand what’s happening inside you. It moves beyond talking about change, and instead helps you experience it in real time. Sessions are collaborative, experiential, and often slower than traditional talk therapy. We may:

  • Pause to notice body sensations, emotions, images, or thoughts in the moment

  • Explore movements, prompts, and impulses to reveal unconscious patterns, limiting beliefs, and early childhood memories

  • Use grounding techniques to help your nervous system feel calmer and enable new experiences to emerge

  • Integrate new perspectives and insights into your daily life

You’ll learn to become more aware of what’s happening in your body and mind in the present moment, giving you insights to make more authentic and informed life choices. Over time, this work can lead to deep transformation—a stronger sense of self and a more compassionate, empowered way of being.
